Llano Community Cookbook Benefitting the Child Welfare Board

Cindy Campbell, from the Llano County Child Welfare Board, popped into the studio this morning to have a talk about their latest project.  They're putting out a call for local folks to send in their favorite recipes!

Why a Llano community cookbook?  The first goal is to bring our community together through a common project from which everyone benefits.  The second goal is to preserve treasured recipes from family and friends to pass on to the next generation.

How can you help?

Collect recipes from your church, your organizations, your family and your friends.  Each person may contribute as many recipes as they would like.  It would be most helpful if you can proofread the recipes you collect...the more eyes on them, the better.

What may be included?

Recipes:

  1. On a submission form you can pick up from and return to: Llano County Library, Llano National Bank, First Baptist Church, Grace Episcopal Church, Llano Journey Fellowship and Lutie Watkins Memorial Methodist
  2. On a blank piece of 8.5 x 11 paper (Please don't write on the back...use a blank sheet or that part of the recipe may be overlooked.)
  3. Via email to dccamp76@gmail.com
  4. Via the collection basket located at Llano Chamber of Commerce https://www.llanochamber.org/home
  5. Via "snail mail" to PO Box 202 Llano, TX 78643

Photos:

  1. Perhaps a photo of your dish or of you preparing it, alone or with your grandchild, for instance.  Or, a photo of someone cooking it on the family grill.
  2. For best results, the photo should be an original, not a photocopy.
  3. You can scan and email a digital copy of your photo along with your recipe to dccapm76@gmail.com
  4. If you submit an actual photo along with your recipe on paper to one of our participating locations, return of the photo is not guaranteed so make sure you have a spare copy.

Recipe Notes:  Maybe a little something about the preparation of the dish, the history of the recipe or a kitchen tip.  Please keep it to a few lines.

Recipe submissions are due by: May 24, 2024

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO LLANO COUNTY CHILD WELFARE BOARD BENEFITTING LOCAL CHILDREN IN FOSTER AND/OR CPS CARE
